TESOL ADVOCACY

ConnTESOL was chosen to participate in TESOL Advocacy Day 2010. This year's focus was on the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), currently revised as No Child Left Behind (NCLB). A summary article outlining the highlights of TESOL Advocacy Day 2010 is available here.

REMEMBERING ELISE KLEIN

The Board of ConnTESOL mourns the passing of their devoted colleague, Elise Klein.  Elise was a former ConnTESOL President and Board member, and a lifelong advocate for ESL students and educators. Elise founded Teachers against Prejudice www.teachersagainstprejudice.org, served as a teacher trainer, and conducted workshops promoting peace education, social responsibility, and interfaith cooperation at conferences around the world.  A tireless voice for justice and equality, Elise will be deeply missed.
